Still Here

So here we are.

Thank you for the kind thoughts and concern about me these past horrific weeks.  It really was a strange, scary winter for me, and, I’m afraid, I’ll be feeling the impact for awhile.  Truly, support and encouragement of friends. . . there are no words.

On to other things, in all respects.  Some of you know about a couple of developments.  There was one week in March where it all turned.  I’d been asking for Guidance, Direction---seemingly for months, but had to get away from the old apartment into monk mode first, apparently.

I was getting mixed signals about returning to Ohio, because, though I felt pulled there, and people were supporting my going back, I could not find any promising job connections.  It wasn’t clicking.  Then I got an email---and another email---from someone in Newport (three hours south of CB ) who wanted to meet with me the next week about a freelance project.

I had coffee with Tom and Marga on Monday, and we agreed that going back east would be the best thing. On Tuesday I traveled to Newport and was astonished at the opportunity this gentleman was handing me.  My arm was bruised from pinching myself.  On Wednesday, a hotel I’d spoken with in December said they were still interested in hiring me part-time.  On Thursday, Coast Food needed me to do a couple of photos for them.   On Friday, a job in which I’d been interested since December became available.  Guess I’m staying on the Coast for a while longer.

Incidentally, while I haven't been writing blog entries, I HAVE been writing.  I put together two--count 'em, TWO--new Glynis websites! The first is the new version of my commercial site, GlynisArt.com.  The second is a little online magazine that I've been thinking about for quite awhile:  WildVinesMag.com.  The April installment will be coming soon, hopefully in April... haha.  FYI, Intuit's website product is really pretty cool. When you get a moment, check out the sites, and let me know what you think.

You know that I’m always interested in the celestial tie-ins, and the push in mid-March can be linked to some planetary activity, but I see some recurring  ”themes” in my life that have been cooking---imagine eggs, since it’s Easter weekend.  They’re down there in the pan;  the water’s getting warmer;  they start to jiggle a bit, and you hear them, but they aren’t ready.  I, by the way, cook eggs mercilessly until they’re nearly rubberized---can’t stand under-done, soft eggs.  Anyway, they start bouncing around more,  and you see them popping up and down at the surface, but are not completely done.   Finally, there they are:   all of them floating in plain sight.  They’re done, ready to crack open and give you energy and nourishment.

That’s a pretty dramatic (and goofy) metaphor, but it’s a pretty dramatic journey right now.  And if you’re feeling change in the air, too, then it could be Uranus in Aries.  I offer you this from Michael Lutin today, which in its visual and message is sticking with me.  It’s not just for us Capricorns, he wrote this for everyone:

Many new roads and opportunities and joys and experiences and adventures await you

with the entrance of Uranus into Aries.

To get to that point, however, you have to allow yourself to be taken forward by a current

that draws you further away from a dream you've been dreaming

toward a fresher, more appropriate reality.

This is renewal and rebirth in the most profound and enlivening sense.

So, proceed with courage.

There is

Nothing To Be Afraid Of.

Hi Glynis. Still routinely visiting your web site(s) and just wanted to say hey and wish you well. I have no clue as to the details of what you've been dealing with, other than the references in your writings but sounds like things are at least on the upswing for you. As I've stated before, I appreciate your writing and admire and appreciate your photography. Furthermore, you were always kind to me and I don't forget such interactions. I hold kindness close to my heart and soul and in my memory. In short, thanks again for sharing your talents with all of us. I wish you well in your endeavors. Personally, I'm doing well but dearly miss the CB area. It always meant so much to me... stuff from early childhood from over 55 years ago, up through the years... Take care and may everything work in your favor. Peace. Don
