Cabbage Patch
November 20, 2007
Let me start by apologizing (though I realize that's in bad form.) I have not been posting as regularly in part because of my schedule, but lately GoDaddy (my blog host company) has changed its format. I have to reconfigure my blog to their new templates, which I've tried to do several times. I always get to one point or another, and the next screen completely wipes my efforts out and starts over. When posting photos, I can no longer upload a group, but have to go through the full process for each image. It isn't efficient for me, a photo-blogger, and takes much more time.
If the photos have been out of line or all over the page, again, I apologize. All the elements seem to make it to cyberspace, but not the way I assemble them, and it ends up looking like "quality control" is non-existent. I will work the bugs out as soon as I can sit down with the screen in front of me while getting a tech rep on the phone more helpful than the two I've tried to work with in the past couple of weeks (who condescendingly made me feel like my own tech skills were one level below a dust bunny's.)
Anyway, I have flowers here--technically, it's decorative cabbage--that I didn't see back east. Friends planted them along a walkway, and I had to catch the purple over the gold/orange leaves, especially after the rain. They appear in the fall, lush and full-- harbingers of the rich bounty and harvest of this season.
Tonight's plan is to sip a glass of red wine, munch some popcorn and watch "Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving"--another traditional kick-off to the holidays. But when other hectic days are peppered with frustrations (like those described above,) maybe I'll just blow up one of these photos as large as I can and lose myself in the water drops.

Glynis, I was beginning to wonder what had happened. Sorry for the frustration. Maybe the forecasted great weather for the coast during Thanksgiving will help ease the tension. The ocean, sunshine, good music and a nice glass of wine always helps keep the insanity at a distance. Still checking your page to feed my emotions and passions for the beauty in this world. Happy Thanksgiving. Don

Thank you Leah, Barbara and Don. I'm grateful that I can share little pieces of such beautiful things this way, and I'm glad that you enjoy them. Happy Thanksgiving to you all and to my other "viewers." GAV
