One Evening

It's been ages...I shoot for this site, then...time.

I took these photos nearly two weeks ago, one evening between two stormy days.  I saw the clouds gathering and the light warming, so I stopped at the Cove to see what the water was doing.  The birds, as you see, grounded themselves to wait.  Again a "profile in courage," I crept to within five or six feet of the gulls trying not to ruffle any feathers or get them interested enough to think I was carrying food.  They were on their best behavior.

If you are in Cannon Beach this weekend, it is the hugely popular Stormy Weather Arts Festival (check out the Cannon Beach Gazette on Thursday.)  I will be showing work at the Buttery in Sandpiper Square and at the Photographers' Showcase at the Chamber/Visitors Center.  Please stop and say hey.

Thanks again for warming my day. When I am away, I am able to open your site and feel right at home. Wish I could be there this weekend to say "hey".
