CB's 4th of July

Thursday, July 5, 07

Cannon Beach's 4th of July Parade is not AN event, it's THE event--with everything from fighter jets saying hello to kids on bikes.  Since fireworks are discouraged in town and prohibited on the beach, the whole town and then some flock to Hemlock Street to cheer their neighbors on, to catch candy and to celebrate America's birthday.

Today's posting is a general  parade overview, as it went by.  I am also hoping to post this on another site as a slide show--more on that by tomorrow.

Tomorrow's posting will be of some of the personalities at the parade, ranging from cute to downright eccentric.  I think you'll agree that, if we haven't won the prize for most spirit, we've at least cornered the market on anything red, white or blue.

    Hi Glynis,
I love getting your pictures...they're so uplifting, even in the rain! It looks like you've found your home.
