Putt-zing Around in CB
Tuesday, June 26, 07
Tuesday afternoon doesn't seem a likely time to hold a benefit, but in laid back Cannon Beach for the even more laid back Tolovana Arts Colony, it was the perfect time. And the perfect day--warm and sunny--for a "golf" event. I and foursome partners Gwen, Paul and Mike trooped from downtown to Tolovana Park through all nine artist-designed holes.
Tolovana Arts Colony (www.tolovanaartscolony.org) is a non-profit collective of local artists providing classes in all forms of art and self-expression. Shameless Plug Alert: I'll be teaching a photo workshop on Saturday, July 21st.
We and the other foursomes we met all had a great time. Congrats and thanks to Billy Hults and Mike Burgess of TAC on a successful event.

Gwen makes this hole at the Driftwood look easy:

Paul surveys his options from the rough (the deck at Sleepy Monk Coffee Roasters):

He then aced this deceivingly difficult hole behind Bill's Tavern:

Mike looks pleased after using only three strokes to sink the ball at the toughest hole (a Par 5 in front of the American Legion):

Artist David Kinhan coaches Gwen and I on the approach to the ninth, the Volcano Hole (yours truly was one of two people to par it):

The "gallery" at the Warren House Pub watches Gwen begin her trek up the hill:
