Happy Birthday, Gwen--Friends and neighbors gathered at Mariachi Loco Saturday night to surprise and celebrate with unsuspecting Gwen. Family came down from the Seattle area, so husband Paul could put it all together. Best wishes for a terrific year!
Gwen realizes why their table is so large...

Paul presents a stunning chocolate raspberry birthday cake...

Grandson Aiden finds the balloons more interesting (Aiden's mom is daughter Karen)...

Andrew and Catherine, son and daughter-in-law...

Friends enclosed a lottery ticket in their card. No word yet on what Gwen will do with the winnings...

Sunday Morning--Rain and wind made Friday and Saturday generally miserable. I heard the rain stop in the wee hours Sunday morning, however. Kitty-poo, for whom I'm pet sitting again, woke me around 7 am, anxious to get outside to take advantage of the calm. I'm glad she did. The just-rising sun was coloring the clouds, and the river had become as still as it gets. Little ducks played while I sipped a cup of coffee and sank into the quiet.
